King Site Services Ltd are a Hirwaun-based engineering business with long‑standing links to the Tata Steel UK supply chain. As wider changes within the steel industry began to affect suppliers across Wales, the business recognised the need to adapt, diversify, and invest in new technology to maintain competitiveness and secure future growth.
To support their transition, King Site Services Ltd applied to the Tata Supply Chain Fund—a UK Government funded, grant scheme designed to assist businesses heavily impacted by the Tata Steel UK (TSUK)’s transition to Electric Arc steelmaking at their Port Talbot works. The fund offers both capital and revenue support to help companies modernise, innovate, diversify and reduce risk and job losses within their operations.
Through the Tata Supply Chain Fund, King Site Services Ltd accessed both capital and revenue funding to support the purchase of a CNC plasma cutter—an investment that might otherwise have been delayed or scaled back – and cover overhead costs which has allowed the company to invest and move forward more confidently.
This financial assistance not only supported the acquisition of new equipment but also provided the operational stability needed to implement the upgrade effectively.
