Cwmavon Childcare Facility
Neath Port Talbot County Council commissioned the design, development and construction of a new childcare unit with associated works at Cwmavon. The contract was awarded to TRJ Ltd.
Supporting the local economy by awarding 100% of all sub-contracting work to welsh based businesses.
TRJ were able to provide 5 apprenticeships opportunities on the site altogether providing 88 weeks of work experience for Neath Port Talbot County Council local young people.
Their community engagement officer Stuart Thomas also took part in assisting with mock interviews at Birchgrove and Dwr Y Felin Comprehensive.
They also attended Neath Port Talbot County Council’s careers fairs and jobs fairs.
Cllr. Charlotte Gaslworthy for Bryn Oakwood & Cwmafan said this –
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank TRJ Ltd for their kind donation towards sensory play equipment that is desperately needed at the local community park in Cwmafan. It is great to know that local contractors, like TRJ, are keen to connect with and support, local community groups when they are working on a building project nearby”.
TRJ also donated an Amazon voucher to Jayne Midwinter who is the Flying Start Parenting Support Worker, who helps run the Stay & Play Parenting Group in Cwmavan. This donation is helping the group purchase new construction type play equipment for the families to use at their weekly sessions.
