We are proud to work in partnership with Andrew Scott and share the social value delivered on the Gnoll Country Park redevelopment Project. This project was funded by NPTCBC and Welsh Government via the Levelling Up Fund and the Vale of Neath Heritage Corridor project, and supported by our Community Benefits Officer.
At NPTCBC we are committed to ensuring that our procurement creates a real difference in our communities.
Social value refers to the benefits created for people, communities and the environment, such as improving well-being, supporting local businesses, creating jobs or protecting the environment.
For this project, this included providing advanced apprenticeship and employment opportunities. Watch the video to learn more about the positive impact this had.

Here’s what we all achieved together:
Jobs & Skills
- 774 person-weeks of employment created — over 50% more than the original set target!
- 20 apprenticeship and traineeships delivered
- 3 long-term unemployed residents given meaningful work
- 5 work experience placements for local students
Supporting Local Business
- 81.6% of the project costs were spent in Wales
- 228.5% was spent right here in Neath Port Talbot!
Inspiring the Next Generation
- Partnered with Bumbles of Honeywood’s 2024/25 sponsorship of Ysgol Cwm Brombil
- Participated at multiple job and career fairs including Career Wales Job Fair, Neath Port Talbot Careers Fair, Neath College Careers Fair and Croeserw Community Jobs Fair
- Site visit for Careers Wales teachers
Caring for Our Community & Environment
- Rugby kit for Tonmawr ladies, Neath Juniors and Pontrhydfen.
- Donation of cabin to Gnoll Park Park Run
- YMCS rubbish collection
- Grass cutting and paint donation to Fairyland
- Foodbank donation and easter egg appeal to Neath Foodbank

National Apprenticeship Week is a week-long celebration that brings together employers, apprentices and training providers from across the UK to showcase the positive impact apprenticeships have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
We are proud to work in partnership with Andrew Scott Ltd and highlight the social value delivered through the Gnoll Country Park Redevelopment Project.
The project was funded through the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund as part of the Vale of Neath Heritage Corridor project.
At NPTCBC, we are committed to ensuring our procurement activity delivers meaningful benefits for local communities. Social value is about creating positive outcomes for people, places and the environment, whether that’s supporting local businesses, creating employment opportunities, improving wellbeing or protecting the natural environment.
As part of this project, advanced apprenticeship placements and employment opportunities were provided, helping individuals develop valuable skills and build rewarding careers.
