Gnoll Country Park Re-development Project with Andrew Scott Ltd.

We are proud to work in partnership with Andrew Scott and share the social value delivered on the Gnoll Country Park redevelopment Project. This project was funded by NPTCBC and Welsh Government via the Levelling Up Fund and the Vale of Neath Heritage Corridor project, and supported by our Community Benefits Officer.
At NPTCBC we are committed to ensuring that our procurement creates a real difference in our communities.
Social value refers to the benefits created for people, communities and the environment, such as improving well-being, supporting local businesses, creating jobs or protecting the environment.

Here’s what we all achieved together:
Jobs & Skills
- 774 person-weeks of employment created — over 50% more than the original set target!
- 20 apprenticeship and traineeships delivered
- 3 long-term unemployed residents given meaningful work
- 5 work experience placements for local students
Supporting Local Business
- 81.6% of the project costs were spent in Wales
- 228.5% was spent right here in Neath Port Talbot!
Inspiring the Next Generation
- Partnered with Bumbles of Honeywood’s 2024/25 sponsorship of Ysgol Cwm Brombil
- Participated at multiple job and career fairs including Career Wales Job Fair, Neath Port Talbot Careers Fair, Neath College Careers Fair and Croeserw Community Jobs Fair

Seven Sisters Business Units - at Nant Y Cafn Business Park

We were proud to work in partnership with Andrew Scott Ltd who were the principal contractor delivering on the build of six new industrial units at Nant Y Cafn Business Park in Seven Sisters.
The six units, which will be managed by Neath Port Talbot Council, were funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The development provides fit‑for‑purpose, modern accommodation that supports business growth and local employment, helping companies stay rooted in valley communities rather than relocating elsewhere.

- Total number of training weeks achieved on this contract during the period = 171
- Apprenticeships = 12
- Apprenticeship weeks = 136
- Graduate placements = 1
- Graduate placement weeks = 9
- 2 week work experience opportunity for a Neath Port Talbot College student
Supporting Local Business
- 75% of subcontracts awarded were from South West Wales
Inspiring the Next Generation
- Attended the Futurescape Grand Final at Parc y scarlets
- STEM engagement activity at Dwr y felin comp school
Caring for Our Community & Environment
- Donated volunteering time and materials to paint the old Colliers Wheel based at the local community park.

A week-long celebration that brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
